My little sister H is off to Leeds Uni next week to start her history degree so before she goes I wanted to wear some of her new clothes. Of course I asked her permission and didn't just steal them because I hate it when that happens to me!! She bought this Aztec jumper when the two of us paid a visit to the new Oxford Street Forever 21 store. I love the colour and the print a lot, in fact I think I love this jumper more than she does. The top was purchased from our recent trip to Northern Ireland and it's oversized fit means it's perfect for tucking into my trusty skater skirt.

Today has been a busy one. This morning my Mum and I ran the Adidas Women's 5K challenge in Hyde Park. My Mum isn't really much of a runner but since I've been getting into it she's become really motivated and we decided it would be fun to do a charity run together. I'm not going to lie, I'm a much better runner than she is but the race wasn't about proving that today it was about running with her now matter how long we took. We did the 5K in 39minutes so considering my Mum doesn't really run that much I think it was a terrific effort. The whole event was really fun and I think we're going to do it again next year.

I also go my hair cut and coloured yesterday but of course the race today messed it up. I'm trying to grow it now but I know it'll be hard as I'm so used to having short hair!

Do you ever wear your siblings clothes x

Race for Life

Dress from Topshop

Yesterday I did the Hammersmith 10K Race for Life. It was hard and gave me the most horrific blisters ever but I'm glad I did it as it was the first time I'd ever run 10k! On Friday I forgot to bring my gym bag home from work so I had to use my old trainers for the race hence the foot problems. My time was a bit on the slow side (1hour 12mins or there about) but because my feet were in such agony I did well considering.

Race for Life is such a fantastic way to raise money for Cancer Research UK and also a very emotional event but if you were ever thinking about doing a competitive charity race I would not recommend it. Your time is not monitored and so many people walk that it's hard to get going at first. But if you are looking for a fun race that isn't taken too seriously then I would definitely recommend it. Even though my raise is now over you can still sponsor me here!

After the race and a huge lunch of pasta I went to get my hair cut and coloured. It's mega short this time with quite a big fringe thing. It's taking some getting used to as I didn't expect so much to be cut off but I love it. It's the awesome grey colour I love too! I wish I could blow dry it as well as my hairdresser Frankie does but I'm rubbish and make it look all frizzy =( I need some new hair products I think.

Have you done any charity races before x

Quickie

Just a quickie today because a. I'm exhausted and b. I've exceeded my monthly bandwidth on photobucket so I'm having to upload my pictures via blogger until I can sort it all out!.

This morning I took part in the Clapham Common 5K series and I'm delighted to say that I ran the whole distance without stopping. I'm not sure of my exact time yet but it's under 35minutes which is what I was hoping for (EDIT - 34.35.6mins woo). It was bloody hard work and my legs and feet killed afterwards (blisters too) but I'm so glad I didn't stop! I've only been running for 2 months now and I'm completely thrilled by how much my fitness has improved. My next race will be 10K in July so I've still got a lot of training to do but this was the perfect practice. If you had told me a few months ago that I'd be a long distance runner by the summer I would have died with shock but I'm really enjoying it now so here's to more (longer) races.

After the race I chilled at home for an hour and then went to get my hair done. My roots were in a dire state and my cut was overgrown. I've had a massive dose of ash toner to give the blonde that grey colour which I love. As for the cut, I've had a fair bit chopped off the right side and the bottom so it's really asymetric. I love to have volume at the top and a sweeping side fringe so I'm super happy with it. Frankie always does an amazing job =)

I had my nails painted in an Aztec print on Tursday at the Flash Paradise event (more on that another day) but they are now sadly chipping.

Also, on Friday I had a job interview at Syngenta in Bracknell and before I had even got home they rang me up offering me the job! Of course I took it and as of May 31st I will be working as an eco toxicologist which I'm super excited about. I'm hoping to move to Reading as it's the nearest 'decent' city to work so I'm on the look out for the perfect 1 bedroom flat. I'm really looking forward to moving out and starting my new job but I'm also scared, however I think that's all part of the process so I'm sure I'll be fine.

How was your weekend x

Sign me up

First of all I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to every bodies lovely messages this week re my job interview and graduation, they really made me smile!

So who watched the London Marathon on the telly today? I did and my gosh did it give me one massive dose of inspiration. Those runners have such incredible power and are completely amazing they make me feel really humble. Anyway, it's made me want to take my running more seriously so I've signed up for a 10K Race for Life on July 9th in London. You can sponsor me here if you so desire. I can't even run 5K yet but I get better every week so with a bit of hard work and motivation I'm sure I'll be ok... fingers crossed! I'm really contemplating signing up for the Nike+ half marathon in London on September 25th as it'll be the perfect stepping stone for doing the London Marathon in 2012 but we shall have to see. Next year the Olympics are coming to London so if I was ever going to run the London Marathon, 2012 would be an amazing year to do it.

Enough talk of running, today was lovely and sunny so I decided to get my legs out and dress for the weather. I didn't even go anywhere (except for my morning run... last reference) but that didn't stop me tottering around the garden in my ancient wedges.

Tonight I'm off to the Royal Albert Hall with my parents to see some random musical event dedicated to the Royal Wedding. It's not really my thing but they have a spare ticket and are forcing me to go! Saying that, the location is fabulous so at least I can take some nice pictures. Might have to put tights on though because the sun has gone away.

My giveaway ends at midnight so enter now x
