#AussieLight – Put a spring in your spring! Tell us how would you lighten up your life?

Loads of the blogs I follow have been promoting this Aussie competition to become part of the angels team and considering I'm a big fan of their products I thought I'd enter. I have to write a post on how I'd lighten up my life this spring so here goes.

I believe that by improving little aspects of my mind, body and soul I can definitely make my life a lighter and happier place this spring.

First of all, mind! Since the weather is getting nicer by the day I want to explore more of the culture London has to offer. Yes, I know I'm often frequenting the V&A which is a lovely museum but I want to visit galleries and exhibitions I've never been too before in order to broaden my horizons a bit. I also want to discover all those little venues in the deepest, darkest depths of London and enjoy new art and music.

Body is a really important one to me as I've been trying to loose weight at the minute. Thanks to an excellent post by Helen, today I started running and making a concious effort to get fit and healthy. My first run was hard work but afterwards I felt really good about myself so I'll definitely be sticking to it. I'm following the couch to 5K plan and by the summer I hope to fit enough to participate in a charity run.

I also want to make myself and soul a happier place by spending more time pampering myself. I don't mean by going on a massive shopping spree but instead taking time to relax by having long baths, not rushing around trying to pick an outfit and enjoying a bit of piece and quiet where I can enthral myself into a good book and not just flick through glossy magazines.

With a few other things thrown in such as great company from amazing friends, a big old smile on your face and a spring in your step you (and I) can definitely have a lighter spring. You can also enjoy some pictures of me smiling like a loon and trying to look half decent whilst jumping. I feel lighter all ready =)

Busy

My parents have been in Ireland this week which means my personal photographer AKA my mum hasn't been available to take my outfits shoots. I've been super busy in the evenings too and setting up my tripod is just a pain. Yesterday I went to the pub for St Patrick's day drinks and tonight I'm going to see Chalet Girls and swoon over Ed Westwick. So I thought I'd quickly share a few of things I've seen and fallen in love with this last week.

Don't have much to report this weekend but I'm going to try and visit the National Portrait Gallery on Sunday and squeeze in a quick dash around Wimbledon High car boot sale on Saturday lunch time. I have lots of reading to do plus taking pictures of a few bits and bobs I want to sell. Are you guys doing anything for Red Nose Day tonight? I bought a few things from TK Maxx that'll I share with you in a couple of days.

Did you have a Guinness yesterday?

Keeping with the times

Had the day off yesterday and I ventured into central to visit friend S for lunch on the Strand and have a nosey around Covent Garden. I wanted to visit one of the galleries in Trafalgar Square but I ran out of time so I shall have to go another day.

I visited Lily Allen's shop, Lucy in Disguise because they first time I went several months back I was a little disappointed so after watching her new TV show I thought I'd give it another bash. Second time around and things hadn't really changed, everything is over priced and ridiculously over the top in terms of style. However, the shop itself is nice and spacious, the interior is right up my street and the vintage magazine scattered over the shelves are a nice touch. I wasn't allowed to take any photos but I would recommend visiting it at least once so you can make up your own mind. For the record, I am a fan of Lily Allen, I love her music and style and even though she is totally naive about the real world and real girls at least she is honest about it. FYI both times I went to the shop Lily was not there in case you were wondering.

Decided to wear some trousers for once as the past few days have felt like a mini clothes crisis and I've been having the reoccurring sense of 'I don't know what to wear'!!

I got my hair done the other day hence the close up shot. It's a bit of a mess because I'm hopeless at blow drying it. I got it trimmed about and my roots bleached. It's meant to be a little grey but these photos make appear to be whiter than white. My brilliant hairdresser Frankie decided that the greyness should be gradual and next time I ago she'll put a little more toner in it. I wish the watch necklace actually worked because it would be brilliant considering I don't have a proper watch. The second hand moves but the other two don't =(

I also popped into MAC and bought a lip gloss from the new Wonder Woman range, it's quite purple and totally lush. I also tried a few red lipsticks too and once I have a little more money I'm going to get one. I really love bright pink lipstick but I've been scared of red since the colour is so intense but I tried a few and discovered that the colour actually quite suits my complexion.

Happy Paddy day x
