Parsian Flowers

Two things I love are florals and Paris! Florals sum up summer in one simple, fresh word. The word makes me feel happy yet nostalgic whilst captivating my imagination with an abundance of colour.

This painting is by Van Gogh and is one of my all time favourite pictures. Whilst the flowers are merely white the intoxicating aqua background allows them to appear completely beautiful!!

At this time of year were are surrounded by the multi sense properties of flowers. You can see them looking beautiful, smell their gorgeous aroma, touch their soft petals, hear them rustling in the breeze and taste their pungent flavours (in the form of Waitrose lavender cupcakes). Completely wonderful!!!

I also said I love Paris and the one factor that combines both of these is romance. Paris is one of the most romantic cities in the world and nothing is more romantic than your loved one bringing you home a bunch of flowers (white lilies in my case) at the end of the day =)

Paris is a gorgeous city, I haven't been for years but I'll be on the Eurostar as soon as I get the chance.

It is the home of Chanel, the croissant, the most amazing galleries and museums, beautiful quaint cafes and the most stunning architecture... I'm in love just thinking about it =)

So today I thought I'd combine both loves into a mess of prints and randomness...

Vintage floral jacket
Eiffel Tower tee, skirt and pumps from Topshop
Floral satchel from Cath Kidston

This is my everyday school bag, it was a birthday present from my Mum and I completely love it! I love the satchel shape and the bold print, I'll use this bag with whatever outfit and I don't care if it matches or not!!! Even though I have 3 different floral prints going on, I think they still go together because they are all quite separate pieces ie jacket, shoes and bag. The Paris tee is pretty old but I love the mini Eiffel Tower print, so cute.

I haven't worn this pumps in ages

What do you love about this time of year and how do you express it via an outfit?

That's all from me today, I was probably going to write more but forgot x

The Truth is Out There

If you follow me on twitter you will know that I am currently obsessed with re-watching my old X Files DVDs. I love The X Files almost as much as I love Green Day, the sexual tension between Mulder and Skully is HOT, the fashion is extreme (1990s chic) and the story lines are out of this world, literally! I wouldn't call myself a sci-fi fan but I LOVE this show and all the little green men theories attached

When I was younger we would play the PC game which I remember taking years to complete, it had 7 discs and we took out time getting passed disc 1 and 2... The show isn't all about aliens and government conspiracy though, the 2 FBI agents investigate other abnormal incidents including so-called vampires, computers with a mind of their own, death signalling electronic equipment and garbage monsters to name but a few! Sounds like your cup of tea? Then watch it NOW for heavens sake!!!

You may have noticed the X Files poster in the back of my photos. It's attached to my bedroom door and my brilliant man bought it for me when I started my masters, what a dear =)

A detail I find rather hilarious in the show is how ridiculous Skully's (Gillian Anderson) hair is, it changes throughout each series and becomes thankfully more chic as the show progresses into the 21st century.

Another great fact about the show are the 3 on-off characters called the Lone Gunmen who had their own spin-off show, they are geeks to the extreme and completely hilarious!!!

Mulder AKA David Duchovny is hot!

Whilst goggling X Files picture I came across this gem of a magazine cover... AMAZE!

That interview must have been steamy to warrant a front cover that explicit and if you look closely on the right hand side you can see Green Day are mentioned. This came out in 1995, the X Files were on series 2 and Green Day had released their best selling album Dookie the previous year. In my opinion this was probably the best magazine edition EVER to include my top 2 obsessions!!!!!

The first X Files movie is great, the second is little more, shall I say 'interesting'... but it did confirm a few things about Mulder and Skully!!!!

Do you have any guilty secret shows? I wouldn't say X Files is my guilty secret though because I love it and am not afraid to admit it!!!

Anyway I'm off to watch series 2 out of 10, laterz x

Ahoy There

So I mentioned in my very first post how much I like nautical, I have so many breton tops its unreal and quite a few anchor accessories as well. Today's outfit is pretty similar from the first apart from the addition of my new lace jacket and a different tee although you can hardly tell the difference (this one had gold buttons on the shoulders). Next time I do nautical I promise to make it more different, maybe a skirt or a dress and some different colours =)

Lace jacket from H&M
Tee and trousers from Topshop
Pumps from Office

The jacket is cute, it's a cropped biker style but the lacey fabric juxtaposes the hard design. Most importantly... no sailor outfit is complete without an anchor and a flash of red!

The lipstick is from Mac and the anchor necklace is made by a friend in Derby. She also made me a cherry bomb necklace and loads of cute little earring studs =)

I wear a lot of little bows in my hair but you can't really see the detail on my pictures so I decided to take a picture of all the bow hair clips I own. You can buy these cheap from almost any clothes shop in particular kids stores and as you can tell I can't get enough of them. I love having something in my hair whether it be a clip, a band or a hat. It's the simple things that make me happy!!

I also took a picture of my stack of hair bands which I keep piled up on my printer as there isn't really a good place to put them (my room and shelves are pretty full with all kinds of rubbish)...

You've already seen me wear a pile of these but I'll continue to take snaps as long as I love the bows. Plus my collection will continue to grow because I am constantly on the lookout for more x
