Socks and Sandals

Last week I wrote about winning a pair of Pierre Hardy for Gap wedges on eBay and today the arrived =)

The second I got in I unwrapped the box and tried them on. This was probably my most exciting eBay buy ever (excluding Green Day tickets) and I was not disappointed, the shoes fit perfectly and are extremely comfy. The platform gives me great height without hurting and being dangerous to walk in (unlike my Topshop suede wedges) and the colour tone means they will probably go with most outfits.

I've been trying them on with loads of different socks...

As you can see ANY colour socks will go, this makes me very happy because I LOVE socks and have a boxful under the bed. I especially like the white frilly socks but the colour popping ones a great too. Note to self - buy more socks in bright colours!!!

In the end I decided to go with the possibly demode patterned socks because I wont be told which socks to wear or not with sandals!!!!

Blouse from River Island
Skirt and socks from Topshop
Bag from Primark
Pierre Hardy for Gap wedges

I think this is a pretty cute outfit going on but I could easily wear the wedges with trousers and a funny looking tee. The bag is from my unsuccessful Primark trip with T this weekend, I saw it on the window mannequin but there were none left in store so I stole it from the window display when no one was looking (and paid £2.50). I have the big version from Topshop last year. The skirt was another successful buy from eBay a few years back and cost only a few quid when the price was £50(ish) in stores.

I bought a new leather hair band bow from H&M this weekend too, another bargain =)

I like how the bow is tied in a knot, it adds a little extra detail I think.

I was meant to start my summer project in the pharmacology lab today but it's been delayed till tomorrow so I have the rest of the day to do what ever the heck I feel like... joy!!

Isn't my student bedroom carpet hideous x

Mess??

Since exams finished on Thursday I've been busy with general non work related activities including a BBQ, foam party and shopping trips!

The exams really drained my inspirations but it's slowly coming back and I have my eye on some delightful stuff from ASOS!

The Irish had a BBQ on Thursday which was lovely, we had a hammock in the garden, plenty of cider and good food! Friday was the night of the infamous FOAM PARTY! It was fun, messy and dangerous...

Before and after was pretty hideous!! I just wore an old crappy River Island grey dress thingy, not the best choice in the world but at least it wasn't completely see through! I've never seen so much foam in my entire life, I nearly died at one time due to lack of oxygen / foam suffocation!!!

The rest of the weekend was a lot less messy. I went to Primark with T yesterday but didn't really find too much (we went to the crappy one in Wandsworth) but we did have ice cream in the park which was lovely =)

Today my ma and pa had a BBQ and everyone came over, babies, friends and 'grown ups' so I wore my new Meadham Kirchoff for Topshop tee.

I love the tee, but being at home I didn't really have anything decent to wear with it hence the BORINGNESS of this outfit. What bottoms do you think would look best?

I'm loving the collection for Topshop its full of gorgeous clothes made from sheer, sequins and lacey fabric, what I especially like is the contrast between hard and pretty. I love this sheer dress as well and think it would look great layered over other pieces. My tee is covered in sequin circles which are kinda itchy but look cute, it's made from chiffon but I have it layered over a black tee (which doubles up as a barrier between the itchiness and my sensitive skin)!!!

I bought a floral jacket from River Island today and I love it so more to follow soon x

Winner

So for the past week I've been quietly watching a pair of Pierre Hardy for Gap wedges on eBay, I haven't mentioned this to anyone because I didn't want to jinx myself especially since they were at £1.20 all week! Of course in the last hour the price shot up but I was still happy to be £40 less off with a pair of almost perfect condition wedges!!! I've been after these for ages but my size 7 has not come up until now. Last week a size 6 sold for about £54 if I remember right so I did well.

This is the pair I won, I love the khaki and it doesn't seem to be as widespread as the popular brown pair (which I also love).

As we're on the topic of shoes, I'm also after some black wedges (not too high) in a similar thick strappy design. There are some nice pairs on eBay, one by Pierre Hardy for Gap again but they're two size too small and a pair by Sonia Rykiel for H&M but they're pretty pricey. Fingers crossed I'll come across a non designer cheap pair =)

In the meantime I can't wait for my new shoes to arrive, they aren't too high so will be very comfy and I'm going to wear them with cute frilly socks x
