RESTAURANT REVIEW: Frank's Cafe

Frank's Cafe in Peckham is one of my favourite summer destinations. The multi story car park transforms itself into an al fresco art installation that also happens to serve delicious food and good value drinks. This summer I've managed to visit twice, both days the sun shone bright so I was able to spend a few hours enjoying the views across the city and soaking up some vitamin E.

I enjoyed a spot of brunch on my first visit. The brunch menu is pretty small with only 3 options but the avocado and fried egg on toast was nice enough. Not the most exciting version London has to offer but it was tasty nevertheless and not too expensive either. The Aperol spritz was pretty great as well.

My second visit consisted of a generous lunch. The all day menu is made up of Eastern European influenced dishes. They're ideal for sharing but big enough that you can enjoy one to yourself if you're not that hungry.

The tomatoes on toast was probably my favourite of them all. Slightly cooked, the tomatoes were juicy and burst with sweetness. The baba ganoush was smoky, creamy and came with a deliciously fluffy flat bread. The corn-on-the-cob was grilled and covered in the flavoursome paprika butter. The menu includes daily changing vegetable, fish and meat options. We opted for the green beans and feta which tasted so fresh and every so slightly spicy. We finished with the brown sugar hot wings which were succulent and totally delicious thanks to the slight char from being cooked on the open grill.

Our meal was extremely tasty and great value considering all the food came to around £30. Frank's is open until 1st October and even though I won't make it back I'm already thinking about my visit next summer. Whilst the bar is open during the day and evening, I definitely prefer to visit during the day as it's a lot more chilled and not so busy. It's definitely worth making the trek to Peckham to visit.

  2. I love going there for drinks, but I've never tried the food before, which is a shame because it looks A-MAZING!
