This week's gone by pretty quickly I would say but that's probably because I've been extremely busy. On Wednesday night I went to see Much Ado About Nothing starring David Tennant and Catherine Tate. It was AMAZING and not just because we had the best seats in the house (third row centre) but because it was literally the funniest play I've ever seen. But more on that another day.
Today I wanted to talk about prints. Patterned clothing is something I enjoy wearing but what's more fun is experimenting with different prints and seeing which go together in a clash that's isn't too terrible for the eyes to bear! My newest discovery is polka dots and leopard print.

I think they go together quite well, don't you agree? It's the sort of combination that could go horribly wrong but with the right colours and size of the print then I'd say it can easily be a successful mixture.
Do you like to clash prints x

I think the only way I ever really wear prints is to clash them in one way or another! I love the combination of leopard print and spots too.
ReplyDeleteI am so bloody jealous about you seeing Much Ado About Nothing- I would have gone, but the tickets were £50/£60 to start with, and with the added cost of a hotel room for the night, trains, food.... would have cost several hundred quid unfortunately. Oh well, I have seen him at the RSC, but you can never have enough Tennant!
Aaah I've heard really good things about the Tate/Tennant Much Ado. The one at The Globe is amazing too, and is so funny.

You're right, I think patterns can really match together if the colours are right. The collar poking out at the top is lovely! Glad you enjoyed the play!
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky, I love both David and Catherine, I've heard such good things about their performance! Glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I often don't clash prints - mainly because I don't wear prints at all, but it suits you really well!
Sirens and Bells xx
Oh, you're so lucky - would love to see that play. xx
ReplyDeleteOoh I likes it very much. Pattern clashing is the only way to go really - no point being shy about these things!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed Much Ado, i cannot explain how jealous i am! I remember studying it in school and really not finding the jokes funny, but i'm sure Catherine can make anything hilarious haha!
ReplyDeleteLoving the outfit also, polka dots and leopard print - two of my fave patterns!

ReplyDeletePolka dots and leopard print actually looks pretty good together. The dress is really pretty as well.
I would DIE if I was that close to David Tennant, he is PERFECTION. haha I'm obsessed. Love the mix of prints. I've mixed stripes and polka dots and it looked quite chic, all navy and white x
ReplyDeleteI love the mix of prints! I sometimes mix prints but it's usually one of a floral/stripe/spot combination!

ReplyDeleteI'd love to see Much Ado About Nothing with Tennant and Tate. Their personality's from Doctor Who seem perfect for the roles in the play x
clash prints all the way!
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie...you distracted me completely when you mentioned you saw "Much Ado..." and the wonderful Tate and Tennant double act.I.AM.SO.JEALOUS!! I think I'd give my right arm and leg to see David perform in any Shakespeare play, the man is built for the Bard. And Catherine's such an amazing actress too! Ugh envious eyes for you lol
ReplyDeleteBut I do love your outfit :D the mix of prints look so wonderfully quirky together xoxo
I shouldn't work but it does! Great to see someone so advenurous with the style. I'm still trying to break my nude-shade habits. Working on it everyday! X
