Work Wear 1

So my first week at the new job went well despite having constant 'what have I got myself into' panics but thinking you can't do the work comes with every new job I imagine so fingers crossed it'll all be ok. There isn't really a dress code but I've been trying to dress fairly smart. I've toned my usual dress sense down a little as I don't want to shock my new college with some of the outfits I normally wear such a socks and sandals! As the weeks go on I'm sure I'll start to feel more comfortable about what I wear but since everyone in my office is at least 15 years my senior I don't want to make them laugh. Anyway, this is what I wore last week.

Tuesday

Cardigan from Burberry
Belt from Primark

Wednesday

Chinos and creepers from ASOS

Friday

Shirt from Topshop
Skirt from H&M
Pumps from Vivienne Westwood c/o Daniel Shoes

An outfit made of entirely different items everyday including shoes, go me! I try to be organised and get my clothes ready the night because to save time in the morning but I only managed to do this twice. Some of these things are new and I bought them for the new job, this includes the dress, the tobacco coloured trousers, the yellow shirt and the loafers.

Can't decide which outfit is my favourite, maybe Wednesday but I know Thursday is my least favourite. I should have left my black cardigan on for the photo because the look was more tailored with it on but that's life and I'm not about to retake an outfit picture just for the sake of a cardigan.

Tate Modern

A little while ago on one of my many adventures around South Bank I popped into the Tate Modern for a quick look see. I hadn't been there for years and my previous experience had been rather negative, however as I've matured I've begun to appreciate art a lot more and I really enjoyed all the unusual concepts. I'm definitely a fan of modern art more than anything else so I found the installations, photographs and abstract paintings really interesting. Even though I don't always 'get' the theory behind some of the pieces it doesn't stop me enjoying the use of colours, material and imagination.

The final photos is from Unilever Series and features 100 million sunflower seeds and it's art like this that makes me enjoy the modern movement so much because it's just ridiculous! I'm not an arty person at all, I hated the subject at school but I do like the concept that anything can be art no mater how stupid it appears. I may not get is most the time but it's the randomness I enjoy and the fact that something can look good without having a point.

Lazy

Generally speaking Sunday's are lazy, especially in times of self inflicted misery i.e. hangovers. Today is the perfect example. Yesterday I went on a semi epic pub crawl around Camden and Soho before ending up in Decadence at St Moritz till the early hours. I spent Saturday afternoon rummaging through the Camden markets where I bumped into David. G, S and I then visited the Good Mixer, the Hawley Arms, the Barfly, Nandos, the Angel, the Intrepid Fox, the Crobar, Garlic & Shots before making our way to the club where I danced to cheesy metal music. Today I feel the repercussion so am sticking to easy attire.

Ironically enough I'm off to see the Hangover 2 later. I loved the first film so I'm looking forward to this one. I watched the final Doctor Who this morning, I though it started off a bit odd but I did enjoy it after all and thought the ending was pretty good.

Hope you all had a good weekend x
