Where do camels come from?

I'm still in Ireland and it's lovely! I didn't think the internet would be good enough to blog which is why those last two posts were scheduled but low and behold we have wifi broadband so hello internet! I'm not sure I've ever mentioned this before but my family is Irish, Northern Irish to be precise and I was born in Belfast. When I was about 2 we moved to England (Windsor first, then London) so Dad could start his own business and that is where we have stayed so no Irish accent for me. We would visit our family in Ireland EVERY year and in 2000 we bought a house of our own in Bushmills, County Antrim so we wouldn't have to kip with the grandparents, aunties and uncles any more =) Our house is around the corner from the Giant's Causeway, which is a stunning area of nature plus we have a sea view and an almost private beach. I love coming here, it's so relaxing and the perfect retreat from busy London. Last year was the first year I hadn't come over due to my masters and then travelling so I was desperate to come over with Mum and Dad to visit my grandparents for a few days.

I've been taking lots of photos of the scenery and the ever changing weather conditions but I'll share them with you in a couple of days once I'm back home and have the entire stay documented.

This week, despite a boozy weekend in Liverpool I lost 1.5pounds so I treated myself to a camel coloured tee. I love the camel colour but didn't really own anything in the shade except this little hat so a casual top is a nice, cheap, easy-to-wear addition to my wardrobe. Come the warmer months I can wear it casually with denim cut offs and a high waisted black skirt and wedges.

Hat, dress and tee from Topshop

Still wearing my Peter Pan collar tunic lots, I love it clearly but next time I'm going to try wearing it as a top instead of a skirt i.e. with high waisted skirts and shorts. The little hat has a bow on too, I've been wearing it all winter and even though it makes me hair stick out in a funny way I can't get enough of it.

Socks from Topshop
Shoes from Cath Kidston

These are my Christmas socks and even though it is definitely ridiculous to wear socks tucked into leggings the cute snowflake print is too adorable to hide plus it was a freezing cold day so wearing them like this keeps my ankle warmer. Bit of a loser aren't I? If I wasn't having to clamber around on the rocky beach I probably would have gone with a more stylish shoe but ease before style in occasions like this.

Random picture I know but look how blue the sky was yesterday, not a cloud in sight. You can just see the roofs of the houses sticking out above this funny looking plant. Today the weather was a much different affair, there is frost everywhere so you'd almost think it had snowed, freezing frost is what the radio aptly called it.

I didn't get to watch the new Mary Portas show last night but I think I'm going to 4OD it now. Did any of you see it? What did you think? I love a good shopping show =) Going back home tomorrow night which is a little sad but at least I'll have access to my full wardrobe instead of the little carry on case I bought over with me.

The answer to the joke is Camelot x

  15. I went to Ireland last October. My boyfriends dad is Northern Irish too, but he has lost his accent due to living over here since he was 17. He came over to escape from the troubles for a few years but met my boyrfiends mum and the rest is history! When he puts on an Irish accent its shameful haha so rubbish. He is an essex boy now much to his dismay! His family is from Derry but we flew into Belfast and drove down to Donegal for a family holiday. There was about 20 of us!

It was my first time to Ireland and I love it. I could not get over how friendly everyone was. Once you went into a shop and they heard an Essex accent that was it, you were lucky if you got out the shop in 40 mins, they wanted to know everything haha!

The pubs were so so small, no bigger than my living room!

We are looking to go back this summer to Derry, if only so I can visit the Primark haha!

His uncle said he would take us to visit Giants Causeway :)

After that long essay I love your hat haha! Its such a lovely colour!
