Reading Festival 2011

Top from Forever 21
Denim shorts from Topshop
Cardigan, cycling shorts and sunglasses from H&M
Bag from Primark
Bum bag from Ko Phi Phi, Thailand
Wellies from Hunter

Yesterday I spent the day at Reading Festival and boy did I have a good time seeing some amazing bands. I'm a bit of a Reading and Leeds veteran now, this was my 7th time at the festival and one of my favourites I think. The first 5 years I went I camped but now I prefer to go for the day as it's less stressful hence the reason I had such a great time. The only down side to going for the day is that you have to leave early to make sure you catch the last train which sucks big time, especially if you have to miss a band you love. I was able to catch the first hour of The Strokes but I was literally crying when we had to leave because they were so amazing!

My festival chic outfit (if I can call it that) consists of an Aztec tee, denim shorts and of course Hunter wellies. I bought the bum bag when I was travelling last year and it's so much more convenient than a normal bag. I had a rain coat in my little brown satchel but I only used it to sit on and keep warm on the journey home.

I took my little sister H with me as a treat for her 18th birthday. It was her first festival experience and I think she loved it! Here are some pictures from the day including a few snaps of the bands I saw.

Second time this year I saw Pulp and they were fantastic. The confetti at the end was beautiful and I adore Jarvis Cocker, he's a complete legend!

The Strokes were my highlight, they were beyond amazing and Julian Casablancas is sexy as hell. I was gutted when we had to leave early missing around 20minutes of their set but what I did see blew me away. I've loved The Strokes since This Is It first came out so it was a dream come true finally getting to see them live

All in all a fantastic day out I think. A few years ago I had a lot of beef with Reading Festival as it's full of too many teenagers but now I've discovered that going for the day is the best of both worlds and I'll definitely be going again as long as there are bands I love playing!

Hope you're having a good bank holiday weekend x

Studded slippers from Topshop
Jumper from Ashish x Topshop

Velvet trousers from ASOS

Spiky hair band from Topshop

Clothes Twins is a feature I love to do every now and then with Milly but this time we've decided to branch out a little bit and do a shoe post with our foot wear obsessed friend Carol. A few weeks ago the three of us discovered that we'd all bought the same pair of studded slippers from Topshop so why not do a post around them. I took the studs and decided to amplify it. I've had this Ashish x Topshop shoulder studded jumper for almost 2 years and I love wearing it with velvet whether it be trousers, a skirt or leggings. These velvet trousers cost around a fiver in an ASOS sale and because they're black the velvet it nice and subtle unlike those Juicy Couture tracksuits. I decided not to wear the hair band in the end because it was a bit over kill. but I do love the triple spikiness! I definitely feel protected from rioters in this outfit!

Don't forget to check out how Milly and Carol have styled their shoes x

Nautical in Northern Ireland

Photobucket
Sailor jumper from Topshop
Skinny jeans from Zara

I spent a day in Belfast on my recent trip to Northern Ireland and met up with an extremely old friend whom I hadn't seen for over 10 years. G and I are posing at the top of the Victoria Centre which is a brilliant shopping mall with a fantastic look out point. I never go to Belfast so this was a really enjoyable trip, the city has so many great shops and lots of stylish people too. It was so much more inspirational than I ever could have imagined.

I adore this sailor jumper, it has a little flap at the back which is super cute. I've always been a fan of the nautical trend so when I saw this jumper a week ago I knew it had to be mine. I'm definitely going to be wearing it all winter!

Do you ever tire of nautical clothes x

Juicy Jules varnish from Models Own

I would hardly call County Antrim, Northern Ireland going abroad but that's where I spent a few days last week. It was really nice getting to see my family over there and spending time at our house in the middle of nowhere away from the busy city. You can see my house in the pictures of me on the beach, it's on the far left and before you think whoa this girl has some crazy mansion holiday home, the building is split into a bunch of apartments so it's not a grand as it looks but yeah it's a nice place.

You can probably tell it was extremely windy the day these were taken and thank god I had my trusty cycling shorts on to prevent any indecent exposure. The sea was pretty nippy too! I bought my first ever bottle of Models Own nail varnish and I love it, after only 3 coats my nails were swamped in glitter, fantastic! Can't wait to stock up on some other colours once their 50% code is released.

Have you had a summer holiday x

Dress from ASOS
Jacket from Topshop

Loafers from Office

Even though my blog is called Bow Dream Nation I don't seem to be wearing many bows at all these days. This is something I need to change! I spotted this cute little dress a while back and thought it would be perfect for work. It's very easy to wear and I love the navy and green colour scheme. My boyfriend blazer is really old but I like how the green turn ups on the sleeves match the bows on the dress.

Do you like bows x

Little Deer

Top, skirt and cardigan from H&M
Shoes from Topshop
Necklace from Gogo Philip via Topshop Oxford Circus

Another item of animal print but this time it's deer which will be perfect for winter. Cute animal print and a Peter Pan collar, what more could you want in an item of clothing? This cardigan is ancient but I've been wearing it at least once a week recently, the heart print is so cute. Fell in love with this necklace when I saw it at the Oxford Street Topshop store. I think the lighting bolt speaks to my not-so-secret Harry Potter addiction. I got an early entry place on Pottermore too which is super exciting, if you're into that of course!

In other news I won a years membership to the Victoria and Albert Museum thanks to the giveaway Jasmine was hosting. I'm super thrilled because I love the museum so now I get to visit the special exhibitions for free and also attend members events. Thanks yo do much Jasmine!

Back home tomorrow which sucks x
