Glasto 2011

Just a few pictures from my time at Glastonbury this weekend. I took my Canon Ixus 9515 and a disposable camera too so I could get some different effects.

I had a great weekend with the gang and have lots of happy / fun / embarrassing / hazy memories to share. This was my third visit to Glasto and boy was it a good one. Band highlights include Beyonce, Pulp, Jimmy Eat World and Infinite Monkey Cage. I loved exploring the Green Fields as usual, chilling out at the Stone Circle, seeing craziness in the SE corner, relaxing at the Park and chatting to strangers about all sorts. One of the things I love about Glasto is all the flags hence why I've taken so many pictures of them, they're so iconic. I can't wait for 2013!

Did you go to Glasto x

Blast from my festival past

I'm back home from Glasto tomorrow with a lot of fun pictures and stories to share with you hopefully but for today I thought I'd share a few of my old festival pictures with you. I've been to Reading Festival 5 times, Leeds Festival once and Glastonbury twice (not including this one) so I have lots of memories.

My first ever festival was Reading 2004 when Green Day headlined and if you've been reading this blog for a while you'll know that Green Day are my favourite band in the whole wide world. Reading 2004 was the first ever time I saw them live, just before American Idiot came out and it was amazing.

As the years went on Reading got more and more rowdy and less enjoyable, not sure how I even made it 5 years in row. I had always wanted to go to Glasto but it is always on during A Level time so I had to wait until school was over to finally go and boy did I love it. Such a nicer atmosphere and lots more to do.

Last summer I went to Leeds Festival for the day to see Blink 182. It was a much nicer site compared to Reading but still full of those not so nice people I saw at Reading. Saying that I really want to go to Reading again this summer but just on Saturday to see the Strokes and Pulp. I also want to go to Bestival as it sounds like a mini Glasto plus it's on the Isle of Wight which I've never been to before.

Anyway, here's a few pictures from my old festivals and before you ask, yes I had pink hair circa 2009! Not quite as bad as my black hair circa 2005 which was my biggest ever hair mistake!

Photobucket
I can't find my pictures from my first few years at Reading since they're on an old computer and I was crap a taking pictures anyway so even if I could find them there probably wouldn't be many decent ones.

Have you been to a festival before and did you love it x

Umbrella - Christmas present

Lots of different weather conditions these past weeks making dressing difficult because I never know what's going to happen. I've been rained on quite a few times now so am resorting to keeping my umbrella on me at all times. That red one is apparently the lightest ever umbrella.. not sure how true that statement is but it's pretty light so you never know.

I love the red, white and black look, it's a bit chic sailor. Also, going from grunge in the burgundy was a fun look too. The pyramid necklace is a recent acquisition and I simply adore it, it's huge and chunky and the perfect statement necklace! Hope you aren't getting bored of that spotty dress because it's probably my favourite item at the moment, it's so easy to wear and style.

Festival Essentials

Today I left for Glasto with G and K so I've set up a few scheduled posts whilst I'm away getting muddy all weekend. This is the third year I'm going to Glastonbury and I'm super excited, despite the weather forecast. The first year the 3 of us went was in 2007, we had jobs working for the recycling team but it was a complete mud bath. We had to pick up litter from around the Pyramid stage every morning and even though we didn't have to pay for a ticket and got free food and drink it wasn't worth it. The work was horrible and was only made worse by the weather. The second time we went was in 2009 with fully paid tickets, the sun was shinning for the majority of the time and we had so much fun. Third time is hopefully going to be even better.

I've been to my fair share of festivals by now and my packing has somewhat improved over the years. Here's a few pictures of the most important stuff I tend to bring including outfits, accessories and a few essentials.

I tend to wear pretty normal clothes and stay as comfy as possible without looking like a total fool at festivals. Plus I like my tops and bottoms to be interchangeable as I know I'll end up repeating items even though I bought enough outfits for each day. I'll be interested to see how many of these outfits I actually wear...

Photobucket
The best way to keep warm and dry is by layering. I don't bring jeans because they get drenched so instead I opt for lots of leggings, cycling shorts plus a few jumpers, my floral raincoat and my green quilted jacket. Hoods on clothes are important too but I also have a hat and scarf packed for the cold evenings.

Photobucket
Socks and lots of them plus the thicker the better. Being on your feet all day is hard work so you need to take care of them with lots of layering. Long socks are perfect with wellies but I've also bought a few little pairs for when I wear my trainers.

Photobucket
It's the bare essentials when it comes to shoes at festivals for me. Wellies, trainers and flip flops. The flip flops are just for around the camp area as they are easy to put on in the morning. Hopefully it wont be too wet and I can wear my converse the majority of them time because as the weekend goes on wellies becoming increasingly uncomfortable.

Photobucket
I like to bring a small over the shoulder bag that'll fit all my essentials into such as money, camera, phone, sunscreen, lip balm, moisturiser, tissues and sunglasses. This years I'm also bringing the bum bag I picked up in Thailand last November.

Photobucket
I don't bother bringing any jewellery to festivals but I do like to bring a change of sunglasses. This years I bought some cat eye ones from ASOS and this fab round pair from H&M. They remind me of something between John Lennon and Lady Gaga, I can't wait to wear them. The Ray Bans are an old favourite.

Photobucket
This little visor has kept the sun off my face for many a year now. I've used hats before too but they're too big to carry around so this year I've only opted for this little gem. I love how bright it is and of course the little bow is just too cute.

Of course there are other things I bring. I have a soap bag full of key products and first aid plus there is my Cath Kidston tent which I adore. A camping chair is a must and I also have a very chic granny trolley full of booze and an inflatable mattress. Must not forget the wet wipes ie the saving grace of all festival essentials!
